Baptized member

Holy Baptism is the rite of initiation into the Christian community. If you have been baptized but not confirmed or received into the Episcopal Church, we welcome you to participate at Good Shepherd as a baptized member. To vote in Good Shepherd’s elections or serve on the Vestry, you also need to be confirmed. If you would like to schedule a baptism, please email us at info@gsaustin.org.

Confirmed Member

Confirmation is the rite by which a baptized person who has been instructed in the Christian faith expresses a mature commitment to God. To exercise full voting membership in the Episcopal Church, you must have been confirmed in either the Episcopal, Roman Catholic or Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), and then received into the Episcopal Church. At Good Shepherd you may be confirmed anytime beginning at age 14; confirmation classes are offered periodically for youth and adults.
