Tuesday Morning Outreach

Good Shepherd has teamed up with five non-profit agencies in Austin to provide free, month-long bus passes to those less fortunate souls who have no other mode of transportation, as they try to rebuild their lives. In its more expanded nature, the program brings the reality of those at the bottom of the socioeconomic ladder literally to Good Shepherd’s doorstep. It is where East Austin meets West Austin. Every Tuesday morning, beginning as early as 6:45a, you may notice folks beginning to congregate around the front door to the Administration building. We open the doors at 8:30a and over the next hour, we meet with these folks to ostensibly give them their bus pass but also to engage as God’s people in a dialogue that is meant to show them that God’s love can be shared.
