Instruments
Though the human voice is our primary vehicle of prayer and praise, other instruments – just like choirs and cantors – lead and enrich our liturgy in various ways.
Organ

Our organ was built by Reuter of Lawrence, Kansas, in 1962. The main body of the instrument is housed in two chambers above the north and south porches and speaks sideways into the chancel. The Pedal Principal 16' is freestanding in the north transept. A seven-rank Positiv Organ is located, unencased, against the west wall in the gallery (it does not have its own console). View the specification here.
Pianos

A Yamaha C3 grand piano, purchased in 2001, is used for many services, concerts, and rehearsals in the church building. In 2008 Good Shepherd received the generous gift of a beautiful 1913 Chickering grand piano, thoroughly rebuilt by Bernard Mollberg of Blanco, Texas, which was placed in the Choir Room. A smaller Chickering resides in the Parish Hall, where many children’s activities take place.
Handbells

In 2001, Good Shepherd completed its two-octave set of Petit & Fritsen Dutch handbells, which often find a place accompanying chant and other music of our liturgies.
